Girl Leadership

Equipping adolescent girls with life skills.

In this program, YFC believes that providing comprehensive life skills caliculum which comprises of leadership skills trainings to girls and vulnerable young women gives them an opportunity to explorer their potential to compete in male dominated World and building their agency. To achieve the Girl leadership, YFC provides life skills and leadership skills to strengthen girls’ knowledge in decision–making, goal setting, communication skills, assertiveness, self-esteem building, resisting peer pressure and relationship skills and human rights and gender equality. Life skills education enable individuals to understand themselves as well as evaluate their strengths, weakness and development level, it also assists youth to behave effectively in the society and to adjust with the changing environment and enables them to make responsible decisions, help adolescents to improve their lives, brain storming, role play etc. These life skills help an adolescent to overcome problems they face in their life. By acquiring these skills young people learn to interact with others in the society. It helps them to control their feelings and take right decisions whenever needed.

Our Approach

  • Dare to dream clubs. In this approach we create safe spaces in schools where girls are trained and life skills, convene to talk about their dreams and set goals to achieve their dreams, role model sessions. Safe Spaces provide physically and emotionally supportive environments for girls to build their social networks among peers and a trusted mentor from their school and community.
  • Workshop trainings for girls out of school. Girls out of school are trained life skill to help them with the strategies to take right decisions that contribute to a meaningful life.
